NSWCA 2023 Boys NSAA State Dual Champships Preview-Class B

Class B
1. Bennington
2. Skutt Catholic
3. Blair
4. Cozad
5. Waverly
6. Hastings
7. Northwest
8. Schuyler
These are rankings based off the seeds in the State Dual Tournament and potential outcome of the tournament.
Round 1
Cozad over Schuyler – Cozad comes in as the number 1 seed and undefeated. Their top end strength is too much for Schuyler.
Skutt Catholic over Waverly – This will be a tight battle between two great teams. In the end Skutt gets it done by a slight margin with their depth.
Blair over Hastings – Another tight battle between two great teams. Blair has a little more depth than their future EMC colleague.
Bennington over Northwest – Bennington’s high-end power is too much for the young upcoming Northwest team.
Round 2, Consolations
Waverly over Schuyler – Waverly is not going to be happy after a tough first round loss and may take it out on Schuyler.
Hastings over Northwest – Hastings won the regular season dual and look to be strong contenders to do it again.
Semi-Finals
Skutt over Cozad – Cozad’s undefeated season comes to an end. Skutt just has too much depth to overcome.
Bennington over Blair – The 2022 State Championship rematch. On paper these two teams are dead even. These two teams know each other so well and it will be a chess match. I give the slightest of edges to Bennington since they won the regular season dual earlier this year in the EMC Dual tournament.
5th Place Dual
Waverly over Hastings – These two teams meet during the season and Waverly won that dual. I expect similar results between these two future EMC colleagues.
3rd Place Dual
Blair over Cozad – Blair’s depth gets the job done over Cozad.
Championship Dual
Bennington over Skutt – Skutt won the first meeting between these two teams earlier in the season. Bennington was missing 6 of their starters in that dual and that may be the slight difference between these two teams. It should be a great dual between these two Titans.
