There’s a good chance the class D team race will come down to Saturday night at CHI. These points are strictly off ranking placement and what the average person scores in the place. This does not include those who win matches, but do not place.

Plainview looks to be able to bring a ton of potential medalists. They look to have a strong chance of placing 7 guys and aiding help from Guy Wortman at 113 would be a big help for them to see themselves at the top. You would give a high chance of seeing Adryck Stewart at 106. If Plainview can find Beau Johnson and Colt Kromarek in the finals they should be set for a top 2 finish.

Shelby Rising City is going to bring their four big bullets who have shown they are the top dogs. SRC key components will be sneaking Owen Kraftka, Carter Eickmeirer, and Logan Lindsey through a tough D1 district. If they find these 3 a way to state it may secure them a state championship.

Central Valley is at full health and everyone is down to their weights. Big story for Central Valley that has shot them to the top is freshmen William Pokorny. He sets #2 in the rating, with him and potential #2 Grady Kelly at 190 in the finals can spark big points for Central Valley. In the D3 district Central Valley has a chance to send a lot of kids with high seeds to the state tournament. If the draws are right, watch for Central Valley to have a top 2 finish.

Burwell returns 8 state qualifiers from a year ago on their roster. They have shown to have a tone of depth from 106 to 285 they place a high quality wrestler at each weight class. Led by Austin Mayfield and Brody Jensen at the top of their weight classes they can give Burwell a fighting chance to stay in the top 2. Look for Drew Dawe and Cale Buss to compete for a high finish to help Burwell. Again Burwell in the tough D1, will try to find a way to send a few extra guys that can make a big difference in Omaha.

Aquinas Catholic rounds off the top 5 with a team capable of a lot of points. #1 Kelby Coufal 157 and #2 Tristin Davis 106 can make a dominant appearance as Aquinas Catholic looks for another state championship. Simon Kastl, Logan Vandenberg, and Brady Junck are right on the edge of seeing a state medal. If these 5 have a successful tournament Aquinas can have another great state tournament.
