Boys Class C Dual Team Rankings

As of now, these are the current Class C standings that will shape the eight-team field for the State Duals. However, this is by no means how I expect the final results to play out.
Several key duals remain this week, including David City hosting Seward and Boys Town on Thursday, while Tri-County faces a tough Wilber team along with Crete that same evening.
Gothenburg remains the wild card in this scenario, with six duals scheduled at the McCook Invite this weekend. A couple of losses there could open the door for a strong St. Paul squad (14-4), which we previously ranked in the top five of the Dual Rankings.
If the standings hold as they are, here’s how I see the bracket unfolding:
First Round:
David City over Gothenburg
Minden over Milford
Battle Creek over Pierce
Syracuse over Tri-County
Semi-Finals:
Battle Creek over Minden in a tough, hard-fought dual
Syracuse over David City
Finals:
Battle Creek over Syracuse
Third Place Match:
Minden over David City
Of course, plenty can change before the final eight spots are locked in, but one thing remains the same—we’re not changing our preseason pick for champion: Battle Creek.
