NSWCA Boys Class B Rankings 1/17/25

Class B Tournament Rankings

  1. Omaha Skutt
  2. York
  3. Bennington
  4. Waverly
  5. Scottsbluff
  6. Central City
  7. Beatrice
  8. Cozad
  9. Blair
  10. Lexington

As the wrestlers settle into their weight classes, we get a clearer picture of everything. York moves up with their 8 guys ranked in the top 6. Everything else pretty much stays the same except Gering and Cozad trade places. The number 7 through 13 teams are so close that only a little movement can take them in and out of the top 10. Contenders for the top 10 are Columbus Lakeview, Gering, and Plattsmouth.

Class B Dual Rankings

  1. Omaha Skutt
  2. Bennington
  3. York
  4. Waverly
  5. Central City
  6. Gering
  7. Columbus Lakeview
  8. Scottsbluff
  9. Hastings
  10. Cozad

Skutt seems to be in cruise control here. Bennington has been up and down with their injuries and illnesses (that everyone has) but if they can get it all together, they can be tough. York beat Waverly to move ahead and challenge Bennington for the #2 spot. Central City seems to be a solid #5. After that it is a real guessing game, and we see some strange things in the wildcard points right now. Which is a good reason why we need the NSAA District Dual Championship proposal to pass. I expect the next two weeks to sort things out a lot more and hopefully have a better picture.

NSWCA Class B Individual Rankings

106

  1. Ace Schweitzer, Central City
  2. Anthony Shifflet, Scottsbluff
  3. Noah Boyer, Nebraska City
  4. Lane Welchert, Bennington
  5. John White, McCook
  6. Charlie Fritsch, Elkhorn North

Van Vleet drops out of 106 because he appears to be staying at 113. That opens a spot for Fritsch to move into the #6 spot. Not much head to head here to sort things out yet.

113

  1. Gavin Ourada, Omaha Skutt
  2. Dominic Olson, Waverly
  3. Coy Childers, Alliance
  4. Frost Wallace, Gering
  5. Dalton Lovejoy, Central City
  6. Kade Gieck, York

Olberding drops out as he appears to be staying at 120 which moves everyone up and brings Gieck in at the #6 spot. Not a lot of head-to-head here either to sort more things out.

120

  1. Cole Welte, Omaha Skutt
  2. Chris Gamino, Scottsbluff
  3. Jack Glendy, Columbus Lakeview
  4. Greg Klucas, Waverly
  5. Talon Belding, Beatrice
  6. Ty Erickson, York

Glendy moves up as he has beaten Klucas and Klucas has beaten Belding. Sheard appears to be staying at 126 so that opens a spot for Erickson at #6.

126

  1. Ben Ziola, Omaha Skutt
  2. Luke Farmen, Lincoln Christian
  3. Cole Karlin, Beatrice
  4. Logan Svoboda, Aurora
  5. Brody Schmitt, Ralston
  6. Trindyn Degodt, Hastings

It appears that Farmen has made the drop to 126 and comes in at #2 and may be a real challenge to Ziola. Connelly drops out of the rankings since he has a couple of losses to others in this weight class and has been out since early December.

132

  1. Daylen Naylor, Lexington
  2. Odin Anschutz, Plattsmouth
  3. Devin Nuttelman, York
  4. Jakson McFarland, Columbus Lakeview
  5. James Ferguson, Elkhorn North
  6. Brayton Holding, DC West

Farmen’s move down to 126 moves everyone else up a spot and brings in Holding at #6.

138

  1. Hudson Loges, Blair
  2. Brodee Scobee, Bennington
  3. Trev Greve, Waverly
  4. Gatlin Krepela, Omaha Skutt
  5. Colt Eimermann, York
  6. Drake Hasbrouck, Cozad

Scobee beats Greve to stay ahead there. Krepela slides down more based on common opponent results but will get his chance against Scobee in Schuyler this coming weekend. The rest remain the same.

144

  1. Brayden Canoyer, Waverly
  2. Tristan Campbell, McCook
  3. Isaac Christo, Omaha Skutt
  4. Brayden Kreikemeier, Bennington
  5. Isaiah Murillo, Gering
  6. Allen Diaz, Lexington

Christo and Kreikemeier trade places for no other reason than Christo has been looking good lately. Kreikemeier will get his chance this weekend in Schuyler to prove himself. Murillo drops from 150 to enter in at #5 pushing everyone else down a spot.

150

  1. Tyler Harrill, Omaha Skutt
  2. Aaron Wilson, Cozad
  3. Grady Meyer, Wahoo
  4. Caleb Jackson, Seward
  5. Bryan Morales, Scottsbluff
  6. Isaac Kelly, Hastings

A fair amount of movement here. Both Shannon and Dirks stay up at 157. Meyer makes the decent to 150 and lands at #3. That all moves Morales and Kelly into the rankings at #5 and #6. However, we will keep an eye on Morales as he has not wrestled since December. This weekend at Schuyler will be a big weekend for this weight class as there are several quality wrestlers in the weight competing at Schuyler that can affect the rankings.

157

  1. Kyler Lauridsen, Bennington
  2. Emmitt Dirks, York
  3. Bryce Kunz, Central City
  4. Niko Rotella, Omaha Skutt
  5. Christopher Shannon, Schuyler
  6. Brenden Ging, Plattsmouth

Dirks beats Kunz to move up to #2. Smart looks to move up to 175 instead of dropping down to here. Griffith dropped to 150.

165

  1. Riley Johnson, Omaha Skutt
  2. Brock Malcom, Cozad
  3. Cesar Cano, Lexington
  4. Noah Bordovsky, Wahoo
  5. Konrad Kuzelka, Fairbury
  6. Asa Wegrzyn, Lincoln Christian

Cano drops to 165 and enters in at #3 and Cortijo stays at 175 to shuffle things around a little bit.

175

  1. Merrick Johnson, Beatrice
  2. Brooks Loosvelt, York
  3. Rece Knight, Gering
  4. Zech Roggasch, Sidney
  5. Caden Smart, Wahoo
  6. Anthony Cortijo, Ralston

Cano and Clark drop to 165. Smart moved up to 175 and enters in at #5. Cortijo staying up at 175 puts him in at the last ranking.

190

  1. Blaise Baughman, Blair
  2. Caden Schadwinkel, Seward
  3. Eric Hall, Norris
  4. Joe Andreasen, Lincoln Pius X
  5. Patrick McCartney, Sidney
  6. Dalton Rhoten, Bennington

Earlier in the season Schadwinkel beat Hall and Hall beat Andreasen to sort those out. Lindley has dropped out of the rankings for now since his injury. We will keep an eye on that and if he returns, he will be right back in the mix. The next two weeks at Schuyler and Lexington will provide a lot of match ups in this weight class to sort a lot out or just mess it up.

215

  1. Cade Ziola, Omaha Skutt
  2. Logan Rowell, Auburn
  3. Sebastian De La Cruz, Schuyler
  4. Brody Mattox, York
  5. Cayson Schlotfeld, Gretna
  6. Rylan Schoenbeck, Norris

After Ziola this one is a mess. A lot of guys beating each other back and forth. The #2 through #8 wrestlers can all finish about anywhere in that group.

285

  1. Keagyn Linden, York
  2. Owen Rowell, Auburn
  3. Carver Konzem, Ashland Greenwood
  4. Wes Vick, Plattsmouth
  5. Spencer Steinbeck, McCook
  6. Daylon Adams, Scottsbluff

Finally, no changes here.
