COMMENTS: Well, time for a new season to begin, with fresh speculation about who will triumph in mid February in downtown Omaha at the State Finals. In Class A…there seems to be NO debate on who will win…again. Defending State Champions Millard South are LOADED, and young as well, making it likely MS is on the cusp of another dynasty like a few years back under HOF Coach Doug Denson. They haven’t missed a beat under the steady guidance of Coach Nathan Olson, assisted as always by veteran Assistant Coach Jay Meneely, also a HOFer! Just too much firepower. After that, it is really close for maybe the next 5-6, heck maybe ALL the Preseason top 10 teams…a lot of parity…don’t know for sure who the new difference makers entering high school are, so it will be interesting to see how it all plays out this season. There are certainly some tremendous wrestlers in Class A right now….many feel some of the best the state has seen in many years. It should be a lot of fun seeing how the season plays out.

COMMENTS: Again, Millard South is so deep in duals, I doubt many teams will get within 25 points of them…most won’t win more than 2-3 matches, if that. After that, just like in meets, it is pretty wide open. Few other teams have depth throughout their lineups, so it will be a fun season dual wise, with many close duals, perhaps including some teams beating a foe once, then losing the next time. Look for a season of close Top 10 team duals….except those involving Millard South!
